Is 3 An Epidemic?

Ok... enough already!

A 3rd kitty was found outside at work yesterday. This makes the 3rd kitty (4th if you count the one that didn't survive) in about a month. All of them tame. I work in the middle of the city. Not really any residential homes.

Where are these kittens coming from?
So off to the SPCA ~ me holding the kitten (OMG he is sweet!) and the CEO driving. You have to enjoy an organization who's CEO is also a pet lover ~ no? Shout out to Susan!! Woot woot! Love her!

She has a big chocolate lab who doesn't enjoy cats ~ otherwise ~ I think she would have kept this sweet little guy herself. And well ~ I know my big boy wouldn't appreciate me bringing home another kitty ~ been there done that ~ not good!
He is about 6 weeks old, longer haired, very tame. He didn't meow while we drove all the way out to the SPCA, nor during the time it took for them to fill out the papers. But oh my he was giving some sweet kisses! I took the opportunity to hold and kiss that little ball of fluff!
So that makes 2 kittens at the SPCA right now who where brought in by someone at our organization and then there is still Orange Kitty who I posted about on July 17 with an update on August 2 who is still living with the gal from the office behind us.

sigh... and to see all those adorable kittens and cats out there just waiting for someone to come and take them home and love them.

So...

Lost a kitty? Go to the SPCA.

Need a kitty? (or a pup) Go to the SPCA.

And for all you people that keep leaving kittens downtown ~ stop it!!! My heart is breaking. :(

Oh I would have to bring that pretty kitten home !
Are they being dumped there ? They seem so healthy - not kittens from stray cat ( believe me when I say I saw hundreds when we lived in Spain )
So glad they have you & your colleagues to care about them .

Is there a barn or a dumpster near by? Perhaps even a restaurant? I think someone has found a dumping ground and told all their moronic friends. This is so sad. It makes my post even more real today. Cally has found a wonderful home after just appearing at the end of a dead-end road. Bless you for helping him. Hugs, Deb

It's heartbreaking to know that there are so many abandoned kittens out there- this gorgeous boy was lucky to be rescued before he got run over or starved. He is so beautiful that someone will choose him for their pet, I hope.

Oh my gosh he is so cute! I have a real soft spot for tiger kitties. Alas, my two dogs are not compatible. I hope he finds the perfect home!

Cheers!

That is an adorable kitten. If I were in your area, I might run over and adopt him myself. I am so happy that you and your CEO are helping. My heart breaks for them too. They are so sweet, and they depend on cat lovers like us. Thank you for taking care of them!

What a sweetie.. It make me so sad when I see a kitty without a home. I remember when I brought cuddles home, Mittens was so so mad. I seems like she ignored me for weeks and any time cuddles got near her she would spit at her. 13 years later they are best friends... Hope you have a nice day... Hugs, Linda

Hey Catherine I think my kids would love a kitty but you know who would end up taking care of it! It was good seeing you at T-Ho yesterday. I should have snapped a pic. I mentioned you on my blog. Hope thats ok.

Hi Cat, That kitty looks alot like your Banjo. I cannot believe that people are letting those kitties out downtown like that. I guess they know that there are caring people working downtown who will make sure the cats get taken care of... BUT--why don't they take their own cats to the SPCA--rather than dropping them off downtown???? Geessshhhh....

What a gorgeous little kitty. Thanks for taking care of him.
Hugs,
Betsy

Poor Kitties! People can be really careless with their pet! Spay and neuter! Such a beautiful kitten.

Such a precious little kitten. It's so sad that people are letting these babies run loose - that just breaks my heart too. I'm so thankful that you have found these kitties before any harm could come to them and I so hope they find the loving homes they deserve! Thanks for helping this little guy Cat and Susan!

Oh my goodness, he has the most beautiful face. I'm in love. I think I would have taken him home even though I know Duke would not have talked to me for at least a month...lol

Thank you for taking these little ones to find a new home. There is a special place in heaven for people like you, Catherine--and it is loaded with sweet kitties to thank you!

Catherine, you are right, it is a bit mind boggling to have these kittens show up, but I'm thankful that someone like you and your boss are there to make sure they are safe. I have been wanting a kitten for some reason, and while I know I can't have one, I'm hoping that someone will soon step forward and give this precious one a good home!

The kitten looks so healthy and not a bit shy and nervous I do hope he finds a home soon. So sad there are so many homeless cats in the world, wish I could have them all. Keep up the good work Catherine and CEO Susan. XO

Oh! Send him to Vegas, I want him! He's too cute. Can't imagine someone just leaving him in the city. Who does that?!

Beth said...

What an adorable kitten! I think someone will snap him right up. I cannot understand people releasing their animals. If they cannot keep them, the proper thing to do is to take them to a shelter where someone else will have the opportunity to love them (and spay the mama!) We manage a small feral cat colony - in all we impacted 15 cats' lives; at present we only have two spayed females. We lost the big tom this spring. That was a sad day. :-(
Cats rock!
