Wild Nights

Last week I had a really 'wild' night!

There were hawks on bales...
and dear jumping through yellow fields...
while mommy deer and baby stood in the sunshine...
and an unexpected owl tried to hide in trees...
with his big yellow eyes looking at me...
and there were lots of geese confused as to which way they should be going...
while other geese families were heading in the right direction...
and plenty of ducks that seemed to know where they were going...
as big fat bumble bees landed on purple flowers...
and funny looking red bugs were creeping me out...

What about you?

Been doing anything wild lately?

~~~~~~
And for those of you needing to 'cool off"
check out Kat's Corner.
She's having a winter challenge
that I will be playing tomorrow!
A hawk on the hay bale! Wow! These photos are wonderful! It's a good thing that you know what you're doing. I seem to be missing many of these shots because I still can't figure out how to get the right numbers to the right light!!! (Well, that's putting it simply.)
Well, some might take it for granted that you saw all those things but, me, I know that, even if you live in the country, sometimes everyone seems to be hiding. Well, except for the geese - silly things! We didn't have any stay and nest, this year, or, if we did, something happened.... It's so funny to see them walking down the path!
Thanks for sharing all of this. It was fun to see!
Love, katy xo
Great photography as always, Catherine=love your wild life and as I've told you before, you've got a great eye for simple beauty, which I love!...My wild life lately has been spent with my ill family member and for the last week, Sukki has been sick=seen 3 vets/over $500 and her blood work is great, etc=she's just thrown up/diarrhea and not running around as usual with periods of a few days of acting/eating fine, but it's back today=hopefully it's just a bug and she'll feel better soon with the newest meds...Take care friend.
You have lots of beautiful wildlife in your area! I've never seen an owl in the wild - I just think they are such a gorgeous bird! We haven't been doing much of anything wild around here lately.
Hugs to Banjo!
I always love to see the wild life whenever I visit somewhere. Not too much of that in Nevada except a snake or spider every now and then. hee hee. I am enjoying some deer, squirrels and ducks while I'm here in California!
Great pictures! I love the bee!
Tonight we decided to take the dog for a late night walk. We got to the neighbor's house and a kitten was meowing. It was so sweet. It came up to me and began purring as soon as I touched it. It followed me. I picked it up to take it door to door and ind its home. It was lovely and obviously cared for. A neighbor (our vet) said he expected it belonged to the farm vet who lived just a bit from us. So we took Macy home and headed to the farm house. The vet said someone had dumped the kitten at his house and I could have it if I wanted. We're about to go on holiday so I knew I couldn't do that, but if that little sweetie shows up at my house again...It will have been decided for me. :) It was a lovely night!
Looks like a very photogenic week for nature!
Lovely shots!
: )
And don't let the bugs creep you out, particularly not the ones that are just after pollen. Ear weevils on the other hand, those are totally creepy
; )
