Just Make It!

If you can't find what you are looking for...just make it!

House renovations are coming to a close (crossing my fingers for tomorrow!) and I wanted something 'different' for the front of my house. I didn't want to plant anything, I didn't want to spend a lot of money (renovations are costing enough!), I wanted it durable and able to stand up to the elements.

I found this cute metal bird and pot stand at Canadian Tire, added some sand and rocks, stuck in some black twigs from Michael's, some twisted fence wire from Peavey Mart and some twisted garden stakes from Dollarama (which has hardly anything there for a $1 any more!!!), a metal dragonfly from Blondies, glued on some decorated stones to it and.....!

What do you think?

Very creative and much more fun. It looks great.
Our dollar stores are about the same, the only things that cost one dollar are the things that should cost less than that. :)

Hello Catherine
I came to you via Kim's blog - I really like the outdoor feature you have made. Its amazing what you can achieve on a shoestring if you put your mind to it.
A long time ago I used to dabble in mosaics and when they were little some of my grandchildren would call those coloured stones 'wishing stones'. They'd commandeer some of the stones and then I'd hear them talking to themselves whilst they rolled them round and round in their little hands.
Take care
Cathy
