'Worry' is my middle name...

I am a worrier...
there...
I said it.

If there isn't something to worry about
I will make something up.
What if...
What if...

I don't know when I turned into
a chronic worrier.
But I did...
somewhere along the line.

I will obsess about something for hours or days...
blow it out of proportion
think of the worst case scenario
and wonder...
What if...
What if...

I am currently reading
"The Worry Cure" by Robert L. Leahy, Ph. D.
I am only on Chapter 1.

I wasted several hours yesterday
worrying about something I didn't need to......
Perhaps I should read my book a little faster! ;)

But...
as I always say
"If you know you have a problem,
it's not as much of a problem."
Well...that's my theory at least...

"Worry never robs tomorrow of it's sorrow
it only saps today of it's joy."
~ Leo Buscaglia

So true...don't you think?

Wishing for you a "worry free" Monday!

So true! I should definitely think about that the next time I worry myself sick over something that likely won't happen!

Love Leo's quote; a good post because everyone worries to some degree, but I try hard to stop myself until there is a real problem in front of me...Let us know if the book helps!...Hope you have a good week=don't worry, be happy Catherine!!

I worry a lot too but I try to sing to myself, the song, Be Happy, Don't worry or other way around. Anyway it works. Just have to have positive thoughts.
Have a great day

Worry is especially useless if you can't change anything. Only worry about what you can positively change or help? Easier said than done.

We have the same middle name!! I worry about everything too, and obsess about things that could happen, that typically don't, which is why the quote is something to keep in mind--THANKS for sharing it!! Hope your week is off to a good start!

I'm a worrier too. I worry I am going to die if I have something wrong with me. I worry about my son going away to college. I worry that I won't have enough money. I worry....

It never ends. Let me know how the book is.

My Dad says I have the Johnson Worry Gene...I am a chronic worrier too. It's a good character trait that can go bad...We have a roofing crew and a window replacement crew coming to work on our house this week. Late last night my daughter's cat scared me...A loud crash...I then couldn't go back to sleep thinking about all the men that would be at my house this week...and the post I read somewhere about house robbers. UGH...worries...

( have been trying to comment ! Horray - it's finally letting me ! )

I was a terrible worrier - I had to have a gumshield made to wear at night to ease my clenched jaw as I had dreasdful earache.
But I worry less these days - I let hubby worry about money & bills.

I do bite my fingernails right down though!

so, you're a worry wart, are you!

it's so easy to be that way...but I've come to see that it's an incredible waste of energy worrying about something that in the end, might not happen anyway!

"Who of you, by being anxious, can add one cubit to your lifespan?"

ciao bella

make relaxation your goal this week.

read, sip tea...blog....whatever...just do not add worry to your list of things to do! it's not worth it!

Catherine, Catherine, Catherine...I used to be a worrier too...when I was younger.
I think I finally hit a certain time in my life (menopause?)when I thought what the heck...I am the only person that can make myself happy...so that is what I have been working on..which takes time away from worrying.
It probably sounds selfish, but I think everyone around around me is happeir too(that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)lol
If there is a worry that creeps in, I figure our if there is something I can do. If not, I do something that makes me happy.
It was hard to enjoy that 'something' at first, but I worked at it and it's gotten better.

And my stomach thanks me for it!

Great quote, so true.
Enjoy your day! Try not to worry and do something fun!
*hugs*deb

Looks like you are in good company here..we are all worriers! Please do let us know if the book helped. It's a good thing that most of the things we worry about never happen...if only we knew WHICH things weren't going to happen, we could stop wasting our time worrying!!
