Easter Memories

I remember the excitement of waking up Easter mornings, running out of my bedroom into the kitchen to find what Easter surprises were left for me during the night. On the kitchen table would be the following Easter treats:
~ A pink and white striped handled rubber skipping rope
~ A new outfit for school
~ A big candy filled chocolate egg
~ Gum

Oh the joy of that new skipping rope. Thwap thwap thwap as it slapped the ground outside.

{sigh}...

The simple joys of childhood...

I wish for you a wonderful memorable Easter weekend!

Yep, those were the days of child hood. Too bad we can't get them back. That is the neatest bunny. Hope you have a good day and a wonderful Easter.

Gifts were so plain and simple compared to the ones children receive today, yet I would not change them for anything! Thanks for making me remember those wonderful days. Happy Easter my friend! xxx

Thanks for sharing your lovely memories of Easter. We didn't get gifts for Easter but there would always be a chocolate egg each. We would decorate boiled eggs then go and roll them down a grassy hill to see whose smashed first! Great fun!

Those happy childhood memories are surely the best. I reflect on them often now in my dotage.

Neat post, Catherine. . I love to enjoy my memories of holidays also. I always got a big Easter basket full of all kinds of goodies ---and REAL colored eggs.... I would hide the eggs outside during the afternoon --and whenever I would lose one, we'd always smell it about a week later... ha ha

We went to church --and I had on a new dress, shoes, hat and gloves... Oh the memories.

Hugs,
Betsy

Happy Easter - I remember running into the living room to find a basket of all sorts of candy and usually a stuffed toy. My favorite is the malted milk robin's eggs - still buy them for myself!

You, too, hon!

My dad was the world's best egg hider... finding them all was such a challenge and we'd work at it all day... such fun!

we always did an Easter Egg hunt for the little foil eggs which Easter Bunny leaves - we carried on the tradition with our children - but they are teenagers now & don't get up early screeching with excitement - shame - I loved it !
Happy Easter xx

Happy Easter!
My brother and I were visited by the Easter bunny overnight who left candy in our baskets. We would usually get a very large fruit filled chocolate egg. I don't remember any non-candy treats.
